Books R Love has gone on a very long hiatus...almost a month, which in Internet years, is a really really long time!

Being bogged down with work is no fun, especially when it keeps me from updating BRL. Also there are some books I'm not willing to let go ;p When I do find one, and when I do find the time, there will be updates, I promise.

On a related note, although Stuff R Love started out as a mini sister site, it's now being updated pretty often! Shows how much stuff I've accumulated, eh.

Besides pre-loves which are worn a few times at most, there are also quite a number of brand new pre-owned stuff, thanks to impulse purchases and incorrect sizes. I love those stuff I bought, but sometimes when it doesn't fit, I can only hope it goes to someone who'll like them just as much :)

I am not able to provide a commentary or personal note about the book because I have not read it, unfortunately, but the summary will give you a rough idea what it's about!

Summary:

'Time to find out if you are a magician!' said Gwyn's grandmother, as she gave him five strange birthday gifts. What could they mean, the piece of seaweed, the yellow scarf, the tin whistle, the twisted metal brooch and the small broken horse?

Sounds familiar? If you're a big fan of The Joy Luck Club (like I am!), you've definitely heard of Amy Tan :) I personally think The Joy Luck Club book is lots better than the movie version. In fact, a lot of books are better than their on-screen projections, e.g. The Da Vinci Code and Harry Potter.

Anyways, I digressed. Here's Amy Tan's The Hundred Secret Senses:

Summary:

Amidst the boom of online boutiques, here this little blog is, one of the very few offering pre-loved books :)

Whether it's because you're looking to complete your collection, or you just can't resist getting your hands on more books to cuddle up with (complete with a warm blanket, mini sausage rolls and hot chocolate!), well, what can I say--you're so in the right place.

Books on hand that are currently being let go are the ones you're likely to have read back in high school. Teenage fiction, horror stories.. I don't know about you but I certainly enjoyed them! :)
