Just for Clarification's Sake
Books R Love deals with both new and pre-owned books. If you're unsure whether a book is new or pre-owned, just look for the labels at the end of the post.
I will only compare prices of NEW books at Books R Love with that of NEW books in retail bookstores. Rest assured that the prices of pre-owned books are NOT compared with the prices of new books (I personally think this is so misleading for buyers!). The prices at which these pre-owned books were bought may or may not be stated, depending on whether I can recall them :)

Remember You Must Die
Memento Mori by Muriel Spark, the author referred to by The New York Times Book Review as 'the most gifted and innovative British novelist of her generation'.

Summary:
Dame Lettie Colston, seventy-nine and pioneer penal reformer, has much in common with the elderly residents of the Maud ong Medical Ward. All are united by scorn, resentment, boredom--and the humour that masks the awareness of impending death.
Then the insidious telephone calls begin. 'Remember, you must die,' intones the grave, anonymous voice.
As the suspicious recipients set out to unravel the macabre mystery and catch the culprit before the culprit catches them, the intrigues, duplicities and tragedies of their lives--past and present--come to light in Muriel Spark's immortally funny parable of life and death.
Bought for RM38.50.
Yellowed pages, but still in good condition.
Memento Mori going for RM12.

When the going gets tough...
...the tough go shopping.
The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic (Confessions of a Shopaholic in the US) is a title that's no stranger to bookworms and movie-goers alike! If shopping is cutting too big a hole in your pocket, this book makes reading about it just as good. Both wittily realistic and realistically witty, the 'irresistibly draft' Becky Bloomwood will make you laugh and leave your bewildered, in a way only Sophie Kinsella can.
Summary:
Meet Rebecca Bloomwood. She's a journalist. She spends her working life telling others how to manage their money. She spends her leisure time...shopping. Retail therapy is the answer to all her problems. She knows she should stop, but she can't. She tries Cutting Back, she tries Making More Money. But neither seems to work. The stories she concocts become more and more fantastic as she tries to untangle her increasingly dire financial difficulties. Her only comfort is to buy herself something--just a little something... Can Becky ever escape from this dream world, find true love and regain the use of her credit card?
Bought for RM39.90.
Wrapped. Top part of the book is yellowed due to exposure to air, several small spots by the side of the book. Still in good condition.
The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic going for RM24.

Glistening danger
"The Snow Spider, won the Smarties Prize and the Tir na n-Og Award, the latter being an award for the best English-language children's book with an authentic Welsh background." (Source: Wikipedia)
I am not able to provide a commentary or personal note about the book because I have not read it, unfortunately, but the summary will give you a rough idea what it's about!
Summary:
'Time to find out if you are a magician!' said Gwyn's grandmother, as she gave him five strange birthday gifts. What could they mean, the piece of seaweed, the yellow scarf, the tin whistle, the twisted metal brooch and the small broken horse?
Gwyn gives the brooch to the wind and in return is sent Arianwen, the snow spider. The spider weaves a silken web in which sits a girl he knows but cannot place.
This is the beginning of extraordinary battles against evil in worlds sparkling with snow and silver.
Pages are slightly yellowed but still in good condition.
The Snow Spider going for RM6.

Rat-Boy and Princess
"Fast and clever." --The New York Times Book Review
"Pullman magically weaves fairy tale, humor, and adventure...in a delightful and witty parody of the press."--School Magazine Journal
"Pullman has great fun turning fairy tale convention on its head ...The result is a little Perrault, a lot of Dickens, and altogether, non-stop satirical fun for the readers--who will laugh out loud at each new twist and turn."--Booklist
With praises like that, and Philip Pullman's other books--The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass--as testament of his excellent and captivating writing, there is no doubt that I Was a Rat will be a very good read (I can assure you that it is).

Summary:
"I was a rat!" So insists a scruffy boy named Roger.
Maybe it's true. But what is he now?
A terrifying monster running wild in the sewers? The Daily Scourge is sure of it.
A victim of 'Rodent Delusion'? The hospital nurse says yes.
A lucrative fairground freak? He is to Mr. Tapscrew.
A champion wriggler and a budding thief? That's what Billy thinks.
Or just an ordinary small boy, though a little ratty in his habits?
Only three people believes this version of the story. And it may take a royal intervention--and a bit of magic--to convince the rest of the world...

Important Notice
I received an e-mail today, asking me if I have an alternative site, because the e-mail sender stumbled upon a book site that's very similar to mine. After checking it out, I have to agree--a HUGE portion of the site is copied and pasted from mine, from the format to the wording to the info put up, and a lot of things besides.
I am truly disappointed that for someone who's supposedly well-read, he/she does not know that it is WRONG to blatantly plagiarise. It's one thing to take something as a reference and modify it yourself, but another to copy outright.
So NO, I do not have another book site; Books R Love is my one and only.
From a fellow bookworm to another, you have completely lost my respect.
To everyone else, I hope you'll have a great Valentine's Day! :)

His friend, Malcolm, is about to turn 16, making him eligible to become a solder! And even his closest companion, Caroline, is slipping away from him as the victory-bent Patriots forfeit all tolerance of the local British Loyalists.
